Top Customer Reviews: The Oracle of Luna: Meditations with the Moon Goddess by Bridget Engels

As a devotee of the Moon and all of its variations, I was happy to find Bridget Engels' new book. The Oracle of Luna: Meditations with the Moon Goddess, lets you walk into a safe, internal sense of calm and relaxation. I found the meditations to be just like the best in guided imagery; giving the emotional feel, smell and touch of the moment. I enjoyed coming into contact with each of the Moon Goddesses and learning about their different energies. I can imagine that many practitioners who use guided imagery for health and healing will be happy to know about this book as a resource for their work. This book would be very good for anyone looking to explore their own connection to not only the ancient but the contemporary reflection of the Moon Goddesses.

I loved the content of this book—vivid, mystical contemplations that really took me to another time and place. Whether for guided meditation, celebrating the moon cycle, or deep relaxation, The Oracle of Luna creates a magical space to explore the divine femininity. I really enjoyed learning about the moon phases and goddesses too. The author's mastery of the subject matter is profound, yet she doesn't get too esoteric and lose you in the process. The book has an inclusive vibe and is broken out in a way that makes it easy to follow and understand—this way you don't need to be a studied expert to benefit fully from the meditations. It's Ms. Engels first book and I hope there are more to come!

Leading a guided meditation for a group is difficult and writing about them is nigh impossible. The meditations in this book are very creative but to appreciate them, the reader has to get into the mental space for which they are intended. I have been fortunate to be present for a number of these meditations in sacred space and it is a totally different experience from simply reading them. The best thing about this book is the inspiration it provides readers to exercise their own creativity.
